Lose: 15 - 24
GM: 8-5-4-7-----24
Corry: 2-4-5-4------15
Corry's 8th grade played their final game Friday night against a very well-known Lancers team. After losing to GM twice in the regular season, Corry wanted to give GM everything they had and we did just that. Corry was able to keep it a 6-point game for nearly the entire game. These girls just kept fighting all game long. They put themselves in a position for a possible upset and that is a huge improvement from the 1st time we played them.
Emry Passinger led us offensively with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Madi Leofsky led us defensively with 4 steals, 4 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds. Baylee Kuzma led us on the glass with 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals.
Other stats include:
Koda Kuzma with 1 point, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal.
Lauren Fox with 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal.
Morgan Vanderschaaff with 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block.
Katie Downey with 3 steals and 1 rebound.
Maggie Young and Lucy Hasbrouck had 1 rebound each.
These girls have been improving all year long and that makes me very proud. They have a lot of work to do in the off season, but I'm looking forward to having them at the JV/V level next year.
7th Grade
Corry 7-4-6-6 23
FLB 1-6-6-4 17
In Corry's last game of the season they earned a rematch with Ft. LeBoeuf, the same team that had already beat them twice this year. Corry started out hot going on a 7-point run in a balanced scoring attack from Mikayla Comitz, Ava West, Liv Swan, and Baylee Northrop. Fort LeBeouf was able to chip their way back in the second getting six points to Corry's four. The Bisons were doing a better job on the boards and were getting second and third shots. In the third, the little beavers really started running the floor. The Bison's full court press was not having much of an effect on our offense and allowing us to push the floor. After the third quarter Corry held a small four point lead. Fort LeBeouf was able to cut the lead to two, but Corry was able to score four quick points on a couple baseline out of bounds plays. Ft. LeBeouf had a couple chances but Corry's defense forced them to take unbalanced shots and caused turnovers. Corry getting the win 23-17 and earning a 3rd place finish at the tournament. Ava West had a double-double with 11 points and a monster night on the boards with 16 rebounds. Mikayla Comitz added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Liv Swan added 4 points, and Baylee with 2 points and 9 rebounds. After the first quarter we told the girls we needed to do a better job on the boards. FLB had some post players that were quite a bit taller than us. The girls turned it up a notch and ended the game with 21 defensive rebounds. Ft. LeBoeuf really likes to run the floor, so we worked hard on getting back and then started pushing it up the floor ourselves. We were able to beat them at their own game. FLB then started to run their play to get it down to their tall post players that worked against us last Monday when we played them. We're happy with how the girls adjusted and stopped that play. We are proud of how hard this team worked all season long, day in and day out, at games and practices. This win today was just the cherry on top. They had a great season and should be very proud of themselves.

Second Game
Corry: 2-4-2-2------10
North East: 11-11-4-6-----32
After winning our 1st game in the 8th grade tournament, Corry had to face top seed North East in the second part of Corry's double header. North East quickly jumped out to an early 22-6 lead at halftime and cruised on to win by a final score or 32-10.
Corry had 6 girls score in the contest with Maggie scoring 3, Lauren and Morgan scoring 2 each, and Emry, Madi, and Koda scoring 1 each. Other highlights include Maggie and Katie earned 1 assist each, Baylee grabbed 7 rebounds, Morgan had 5 rebounds, and Katie had 3 rebounds.
Corry plays GM tomorrow at 5:40.
7th Grade
Corry 0-1-1-0. 2
Harborcreek 4-4-2-6 16
Up next in the 7th grade tournament for Corry was Harborcreek. Corry started out great defensively, holding Harbocreek to four points in both the first and second quarters. However, Corry was not getting any of their shots to fall. It was more of the same in the second half, Corry dropping the contest 16 to 2. Defensively, the girls had an excellent game. We went over our defensive strategy the day before at practice and did a great job executing it today. We held their best player to only 8 points. Unfortunately, we just couldn't get our baskets to fall. We kept our turnovers down and ran our plays. There's just some games where there seems to be a lid on the hoop and unfortunately that's how it was for us today. We get a rematch with Ft. LeBoeuf on Saturday morning to play for 3rd place.

Win: 31 - 9
Corry: 9-8-4-10------31
Northwestern: 6-0-0-3-----9
Corry started the game off with great defensive pressure and kept their half-court pressure fully engaged all game long. Quarter 1 ended closely with a 9-6 advantage for Corry. Corry blew it open in the 2nd quarter, holding NW scoreless while scoring 8 points to head into halftime up 17-6. Corry continued to build their lead in the 3rd by holding NW scoreless for the 2nd straight quarter while scoring another 4 pts. Northwestern was able to connect for 3 points in the 4th, but Corry was able to score 10 of their own to finish the game 31-9.
Leading the way for Corry was Emry Passinger with 11 points and 1 assist. Madi Leofsky and Morgan Vanderschaaff had 6 pts each with Madi earning 1 assist. Koda Kuzma had 3 points and 1 assist. Maggie Young and Lucy Hasbrouck had 2 points each while Baylee Kuzma had 1 point and 1 assist.
Defensively, Madi had a team high 5 steals followed by Katie Downey with 3, Lucy and Koda with 2 each, and Baylee, Maggie, and Emry with 1 each.
Leading us on the glass was Morgan with 8 rebounds. Koda had 6 rebounds followed by Baylee, Emry, and Katie with 3 rebounds. Maggie and Lauren Fox had 2 each while Lucy had 1.
Overall, we played a great game. We had a season low 7 turnovers which was excellent for us.
7th Grade
Corry 9-6-10-5. 30
Girard 0-10-3-2. 15
Corry kicked off the first round of the year end tournament with a bang. They pressured Girard from the get-go. Girard struggled getting the ball across half court, Corry turning those steals into nine points in the first quarter. Corry kept up the intensity in the second quarter but gave up too many easy baskets letting Girard back in only holding a 5-point lead at the half. Corry was still in control of the game, even though the score didn't show it, with 12 steals in the first half. The girls turned it back on again in the third quarter draining 10 points and holding Girard to only three. Corry added five more in the 4th quarter and held Girard to just two to get the win 30 to 15. Ava West led all scorers with 12 points, eight steals, and eight rebounds as well as three assists. Baylee Northrop had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Mikayla Comitz added 4 points and five steals, Maci Kemp had two points and two assists and Liv Swan added two points .The girls played a solid game today. Our press was working really well and forced many Girard turnovers. Even though We were in control the majority of the game, it got a little too close at halftime. I'm happy how the girls came out in the 3rd and put the game away. We reminded them at the half about the 4th quarter in the Ft. LeBoeuf game the day before. They didn't want to let that happen again. Baylee had a huge day on the boards getting a lot of putbacks as well. Ava had a ton of steals today not allowing Girard to get in any sort of rhythm. As a team we had 18 steals which is fantastic. We will face Harborcreek, the #2 seed, on Thursday at 6:20.

Lose: 19 - 25
Corry: 4-2-7-6-----19
FLB: 3-12-3-7-----25
Corry faced off against FLB in their last regular season game. Right off the bat, Corry was able to hold FLB potent offense to 3 points while scoring 4 of their own to take an early 4-3 lead. After a couple back and forth missed opportunities by both teams, FLB was able string together a run to go up 15-6 at halftime. After Corry gathered themselves during the break, Corry came out with a great quarter to cut the lead down to 5 with a score of 18-13. In the 4th, Corry was able to cut the lead down to three but eventually lost the game with a final score of 25-19.
Offensively, we were led by Koda Kuzma who had 7 points and 2 assists. Emry Passinger and Maggie Young had 4 points each. Lauren Fox and Morgan Vanderschaaff had 2 points each while Katie Downey had 1 assist.
Defensively, we were led by Madi Leofsky with 4 steals and a block, Koda with 3 steals, and Katie with a block. Baylee Kuzma led us in rebounds with 6, followed by Madi with 4, Maggie and Katie with 3 each, and Koda, Emry, and Morgan with 2 each.
7th Grade
Corry. 6-9-6-4 25
FLB 6-6-0-14 26
Corry traveled to Ft. LeBoeuf and lost a heartbreaker 26-25. The first half was a very tight game. They were tied at 6 after the first and Corry was up by 3 at the half. Corry started pulling away in the third
Scoring 6 more points and holding FLB scoreless. The tides turned in the fourth. FLB was able to get easy layups and stormed back to take the lead. Corry got a steal with 12 seconds left but wasn't able to convert, dropping the contest by 1. Ava West led all scorers with 16 points and 8 rebounds, Maci Kemp had 7 points and 4 steals, Baylee Northrop with 2 points and 6 rebounds, Mikayla Comitz with 6 steals, and Liv Swan with 5 steals. Overall I'm happy with how we played today. We were too lax in the fourth quarter and gave up too many easy baskets. However, the rest of the game, the girls hustled and had several steals and did a great job on the boards considering we were outsized. We played our game today and improved significantly since the first match up. The 7th grade tournament begins tomorrow at Seneca. We play Girard at 6:20. Win our lose we play Thursday, time TBD.

Win: 28 - 5
Corry: 16-4-2-6-----28
Eisenhower: 1-0-0-4-----5
Corry had their last home game Saturday morning against Eisenhower. With Eisenhower only having one team, Corry combined their teams to dress all twenty girls. Corry wasted no time in the 1st quarter, jumping out to a 16-1 lead. From there, Corry controlled the rest of the game by winning each quarter; 4-0, 2-0, 6-4 to finish with a 28-5 victory.
Keys to the game were our half-court defense which really made it tough for Eisenhower to run their offense as well as our transition and press break. Our guards were able to break the press and push the ball up the floor. From there, they made good decisions to find the open girl.
I couldn't have asked for a better game from my eighth graders. All nine players contributed in the 1st quarter and really set the tone early. It was great to see them playing as a team. What I was most proud of, though, was their willingness and eagerness to try to get some younger players their first field goals of the year. It was very special to watch.
Leading the offensive was Koda Kuzma and Morgan Vanderschaaff with 6 points each. Lucy Hasbrouck and Jordyn Watrous had 4 points each while Maggie Young, Emry Passinger, Lauren Fox, and Delaney Church each had 2 points. Emry led us in assists with 2 while Katie Downey, Madi Leofsky, and Koda had 1 each.
Baylee Kuzma continued to be a force down low by leading us in rebounds with 6. Katie and Maggie had 4 each, Emry and Morgan collected 2 each, while Koda, Lauren, Lucy, Emma Kight, Alivia Swan, Mikayla Comitz, Karleigh Moon, and Baylee Northrop had 1 each.
Defensively, Madi had a team high 3 steals while Koda, Emry, and Karleigh had 2 steals each. Baylee Kuzma, Lucy, Mikayla, and Baylee Northrop had 1 each. Corry was able to register 4 blocks in the game with Koda, Maggie, Lauren, and Delaney each earning one.
It was fun to see the 7th graders contribute in the 8th grade game. It was a learning experience for them as well as a little teaser for next season when they will be 8th graders.
Corry travels to FLB for their last regular season game on Monday.
8th Grade against Titusville on October 14th:
Corry: 12-10-10-14------46
Titusville: 5-3-4-8------20
Corry was firing on all cylinders Saturday morning when Titusville came to town. Corry jumped out to a 12-5 lead after one with multiple buckets coming from assists. Corry continued their unselfish play in the 2nd by scoring 10 points while holding Titusville to 3. With a 22-8 halftime lead, Corry started the 3rd quarter without skipping a beat by scoring another 10 points while holding Titusville to 4. With a commanding lead heading into the 4th quarter, Corry was able to finish the game and secure the win with a final score of 46-20.
Leading us offensively was Maggie Young who caught fire today and scored a career high 16 points. Madi Leofsky was able to score 10 points while also leading us in assists with 5. Other scorers were Morgan Vanderschaaff with 8 pts, Emry Passinger had 6 pts, Baylee Kuzma with 4 pts and an assist, Koda Kuzma with 2 pts and 4 assists, and Lauren Fox and Lucy Hasbrouck with 1 assist each.
Baylee led us on the glass with 10 rebounds, followed by Morgan with 8, Lucy with 5, Ava West with 3, and Maggie, Koda, Emry, and Baylee Northrop with 2 each.
I really liked the girl's energy this morning. They were hyped up and played great team basketball. As a team we had 12 assists which was a season high for us.

Lose: 8 - 12
Corry: 2-4-2-0----8
Fairview: 2-4-2-4-----12
Corry traveled to Fairview for a tough region game. Both teams struggled to find the bottom of the net. After one, Corry found themselves tied 2-2 with neither team able to put a string of buckets together. The same was true in the 2nd and 3rd with each team scoring 4 and 2 to head into the 4th tied 8-8. Unfortunately, Fairview connected on a quick 2 buckets midway in the 4th to eventually earn the win 12-8.
Baylee Kuzma led us in scoring with 4 points and rebounds with 11. Koda Kuzma had 2 point, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. Maggie Young also had 2 points. Katie Downey had 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Madi Leofsky finished with a team high 4 steals.

7th Grade
Corry 0-1-0-3 4

Corry had a tough matchup with Fairview who is ranked #1 for the end of the year tournament. This game was a battle of the defenses as neither team had much offense going. Corry: 2-6-2-7----17
Walnut Creek: 14-6-6-9----35
Corry traveled to Walnut Creek and went down early 14-2. After settling down, Corry was able to match Walnut Creek in the second with 6 points each to head into halftime down 20-8. Walnut Creek would score 6 more in the 3rd while allowing Corry to just 2 points. Corry was able to score 7 in the 4th but ended up losing 35-17.
I didn't like our energy in the 1st quarter. We were sluggish and not into the game. Once we calmed down, I thoughts the girls competed the rest of the game. Going down 12 was too much for us to overcome.
Leading Corry's offense was Koda Kuzma with 11 pts. Baylee Kuzma, Lauren Fox, and Maggie Young each had 2 pts. Madi Leofsky finished with 2 assists while Katie Downey had 1. Madi and Koda ended with 3 steals while Katie had 2. Baylee led us on the glass with 6 boards followed by Katie with 3. Maggie, Madi, Lauren, and Lucy Hasbrouck had 2 rebounds each.
7th Grade
Corry 5-6-8-2 21
Walnut Creek 6-9-5-4 24
Corry traveled to Walnut to Creek to try to avenge their loss from last week. This was back and forth all game. Corry was getting several looks at the basket. Baylee Northrop did a good job on the offensive boards and netted 3 points in the first quarter. The back and forth continued in the second, but Corry found themselves down at the half 15-11. They battled right back in the 3rd getting four more points from Baylee, 2 from Liv Swan and 2 from Ava West to find themselves down by just 1. In the fourth the girls played tight D but just couldn't get enough shots to fall, losing 24-21. Ava West led all scorers with 8 points and a team high 9 rebounds and four steals. Baylee had 7 points, Maci Kemp with 4 and Liv Swan with 2. Even though the girls are bummed about the loss, they played a solid game. Each game we want to improve. The girls played a much better game today than they did against this team last week. Us as coaches love to see the improvements. We head to Fairview on Thursday.

Lose: 19 - 32
Corry: 4-5-3-7------19
Seneca: 15-8-4-5------32
Corry faced a tough opponent Thursday night when they squared off against Seneca. Corry quickly found themselves down 15-4 after one. Though we only scored 2 buckets in the 1st, I liked the looks we were getting. In the 2nd, Corry was able to score 5 while Seneca netted 8. Down 23-9, Corry continued to battle in the 2nd half. Corry ended up scoring 10 to Seneca's 9 for a final score of 32-19 Seneca.
Koda Kuzma and Baylee Kuzma led us in scoring with 7 pts each while Maggie Young had 5 pts. Baylee also led the team with 8 rebounds while Maggie grabbed 3, Koda had 2, and Madi Leofsky, Emry Passinger, and Lucy Hasbrouck each had 1. Emry and Lucy led the team in steals with 2 each while Madi and Koda had 1 each. Madi had the teams only assist.
We want to show improvement against teams that we already played and we did just that. We still have many areas to improve and will continue to get better.
7th Grade
Corry 11-5-7-5. 28
Seneca 5-3-4-8. 20
In yet another physical, close game, the little beavers came out on top vs. Seneca 28-20. Corry was running on all cylinders in the first quarter, putting on the pressure and getting 8 points from Ava West. Baylee Northrop was strong on the offensive boards getting fouled on put backs and draining 3 of her 4 foul shots. Corry's D held Seneca to just five points. Seneca was able to slow down Cory's offense a little bit in the second quarter. Corry only getting five points, a three-pointer by Maci Kemp and a basket from Mikayla Comitz. Corry however, held Seneca to just three points. Up 16 to 8 at the half, there was no let up from either team. Corry kept driving to the hoop and scored 3 points off foul shots and earned 7 points to Seneca's 4. Seneca was able to win the 4th quarter, but Corry's lead was too big. Corry with the win 28-20. These girls are getting more accustomed to the physical, fast-paced games with lots of emotions. It's a good learning lesson for them to be able to keep their cool, and control the things they can control. Liv Swan had one of her best games of the season. She had 7 rebounds, 5 steals and an assist. More importantly she didn't allow the guards easy passes to the post, which disrupted their entire offense. Liv and Baylee were significantly outsized on the post and it never phased them. Baylee was a force on the offensive boards, and Liv had the defensive ones. Emma Kight did a good job stepping in when Baylee was in foul trouble and taking care of their post players too. Ava led all scorers with 11 points and 6 steals, Mikayla with 7 points and 3 steals, Maci with 4 points and 5 steals, Baylee with 4 points and 4 steals, and Liv with 2 points. Even though it doesn't show in the stats, all 11 girls contributed and were able to keep Seneca contained while giving our starters a break or when we had players in foul trouble. We are home again on Saturday morning vs. Titusville.

7th Grade Game
Corry. 7-8-10-9. 29
Girard. 5-2-7-4 18
Corry traveled to Girard today to face the Yellow Jackets for the second time this season. Corry's maddening defense did not allow Girard to set up their offense. Corry on the other hand had a chance to execute their plays and get some easy buckets. Up 15-7 at the half, the little beavers turned it up a notch in the 3rd, pouring on 10 points. There was no let up in the fourth either with Corry getting 9 more and the win 29-18. Our defense put pressure on Girard the whole game. As a team we had 18 steals including 6 from Ava West, and 5 from Mikayla Comitz. Those two also led us in scoring with 11 points each. Maci Kemp had 5 points as well as 3 assists and Baylee Northrop added 2 points and 5 rebounds. I'm happy with the girls' ability to bounce back from a tough day yesterday. They all played hard all game. Our ability to see the open girl keeps getting better every game as well. We have another tough matchup at home on Thursday vs. Seneca.

Corry started the game with some great chances but were unable to connect on any shots to go down 6-0 after one. The 2nd quarter was a different story. Corry was able to score 9 while GM scored 6 to go into halftime down 9-12.
The second half was similar to quarter one with Corry having a hard time finding the bottom of the net. Corry was only able to score 5 pts in the 3rd and 2 pts in the 4th to lose by a final score of 16-33.
I liked the looks we were getting through our plays and our decision making. It was nice to see six girls score the basketball. I also liked how we were sharing the ball with 5 out of our 7 field goals earning assists.
7th Grade Game
Corry: 12-3-7-6. 28
GM: 0-6-6-2 14
The seventh graders were back to their usual aggressive selves today jumping out to a huge 12 to nothing lead in the first quarter, aided by their full court press. They continued to get a lot of shots off in the second quarter but only managed three points to GM's 6. The Corry girls came out strong again in the third quarter with their swarming defense turning GM's turnovers into seven points. GM did manage six points, however. Corry added six more in the 4th and held GM the two to get the win. Ava West led all scores with 11 points, Baylee Northrop had 6, Mikayla Comitz and Liv Swan each had four, and Maci Kemp had three. As a team we had 25 steals eight of those were from Ava, five from Baylee and four from Liv. We also only had five turnovers which is a season low for us. Liv, Baylee and Maci also combined for 18 rebounds. The girls did an excellent job on defense today and also executed their plays really well. I'm happy with how they were able to bounce back from the loss on Tuesday. They all gave 100% the whole game. We are home again on Monday versus Walnut Creek.

7th Grade Game
Corry 4-4-2-8. 18
Harborcreek 10-10-6-0 26
Harborcreek came out hot and Corry came out flat. That is not a good combination to start the game. Harborcreek jumped out to a quick lead draining their first five shots. Corry managed to knock the lead down a little bit by getting four points of their own. Harborcreek continued their hot shooting in the second game with 10 more points, Corry once again getting four. Down 20 to 8 at the half, Corry had some catching up to do. They were getting some good looks in the third quarter but were unable to get many shots to fall, while Harborcreek still managed six points. In the fourth quarter, The 7th graders got eight points and were able to hold Harborcreek scoreless, but it was too little too late. Ava West led all scorers with 12 points and Liv Swan, Baylee Northrop, and Emma Kight all had 2 points each. Harborcreek scored on their first five possessions in the first quarter. We let that get in our head and could never dig back out of it. Baylee had a great night on the boards with nine rebounds and Mikayla had six steals. Delaney Church was aggressive on defense as well with three steals. We will get back in the gym tomorrow and work on the things we need to fix and come out strong again on Thursday at home against General McLane.

Win: 19 - 13
Corry 4-2-9-4 19
Cambridge 5-4-0-4 13
Corry got a come from behind win on the road vs. Cambridge Springs. It was close in the first, Corry down just one. However Cambridge pulled away a little bit more in the 2nd to go up 9-6. Corry was getting a lot of shots off but they just weren't falling. Cambridge was out rebounding the Corry girls and was able to turn those rebounds into baskets. That all changed in the 3rd when Corry started full court pressing. Cambridge was unable to handle the pressure and turned the ball over. Corry scored 9 points in the 3rd quarter and held Cambridge to 0. That was the difference in the game and earned them the victory. Maggie Young led all scorers with 9 including a 3 pointer, Koda Kuzma had 6 and Emry Passinger with 4. The girls did a great job on defense today. They were talking through the screens and staying with their girl. Cambridge really had to work for their points. We have a big game tomorrow vs. Harborcreek. If we play defense as well as we did today, and do a better job on the boards, it's going to put us in a very good position to get the win.

7th Grade Game
Corry 6-4-7-4 21
Cambridge 2-0-4-0 6
The 7th graders came out strong on the road with their ferocious defense causing several Cambridge turnovers. They hardly allowed the home team to set up their offense and run a play. Corry found themselves ahead 10-2 at the half. They kept the intensity up through the second half, allowing Cambridge only four more points for the game. Corry, on the other hand, was getting great looks at the hoop by being patient and running their plays all the way through. Mikayla Comitz and Ava West both had 6 points. Baylee Northrop added 5, and Liv Swan and Emma Kight each added 2. We did a great job forcing Cambridge to turn the ball over today. It's really hard to score any points when you cannot get your offense set up. Our girls did an excellent job using what the defense gave us and executed our plays really well. We have a tough matchup tomorrow at home vs. Harborcreek.

Win: 26 - 10
Corry: 8-7-10-1. 26
Iroquois: 2-2-4-2. 10
Corry traveled to Iroquois today after a big win over Fairview yesterday. The girls came out a little flat allowing Iroquois several looks at the basket. Part way into the 1st quarter, they were able to get some fast break layups to go up 8-2. The 2nd quarter was similar to the first with Corry scoring 7 and Iroquois 2. After the half, the 7th graders turned up the intensity. They were able to get Iroquois to turn the ball over several times. Corry executed their plays well and got a couple jumpers from Mikayla Comitz and Maci Kemp to increase their lead by 17. Corry did a great job getting girls open looks in the 4th but only managed a foul shot from Jordyn Watrous to seal the win 26-10. For the game Comitz and Ava West had 6 points, Baylee Northrop with 5, Kemp with 4, Hannah Daniels and Liv Swan with 2 a piece, and Watrous with 1. It's always hard playing on back to back days. We also came off a hard fought game against Fairview yesterday to play an inexperienced Iroquois team today. It took the girls a couple quarters to wake up, but once they did, Iroquois couldn't stop them. I like how unselfish we were with the ball today. Every girl was able to get a shot attempt. We are off until next week where we have a 3 game week starting with Cambridge Springs on Monday.

Corry quickly found themselves down 9-2 with Maggie Young connecting on Corry's only bucket after quarter one. The second quarter was very similar with Koda Kuzma scoring Corry's only bucket to go into halftime down 15-4. The third quarter was even scoring with both teams scoring 4 pts each. Scoring for Corry was Morgan Vanderschaaff and Madi Leofsky with each scoring 2 pts.
Down by 11, Corry went to work on mounting a comeback. Leading the way for Corry was Koda and Morgan. Koda caught fire in the 4th quarter by scoring 9 points. Morgan had her 2nd bucket of the game as well as a great seal for Koda to get within 2 with a score of 19-21 Fairview with under a minute left. After fouling to stop the clock, Fairview made a foul shot to go up by 3. With a miss on the 2nd, Corry secured the rebound and called timeout to draw up a play with 2 seconds left. Corry was unable to finish the comeback and ended up losing 22-19.
7th Grade Game
Corry 7-4-2-6. 19
Fairview 4-2-4-7 17
It was another nail biter for the 7th graders. Fairview, well known for their basketball teams, came to town and put up a good fight. Corry was hot in the first quarter getting a few steals and layups from Mikayla Comitz and Ava West. Their intense defense was able to hold Fairview to just 4 points. The second quarter was similar to the first, with good defense on both sides. Corry getting 4 points to Fairview 2. Corry with the lead at the half, 11-6. In the 3rd, Corry tried to drive in to too much traffic turning the ball over more. This resulted in only 2 points in the quarter. Fairview scored four to knock Corry's lead down to 3. Corry increased their lead by 4 with about 3 minutes left in the game on a basket by Comitz and then a 3 point play also by Comitz. Fairview then inbounded and tried driving to the hoop but Maci Kemp was there to take the charge. Fairview was able to score on their next possession however cutting the lead to two. At this point both teams were in the bonus. Fairview was able to knock down two foul shots to tie the game at 17. With .59 seconds left, Kemp was fouled and made 1of 2 foul shots to go up one. She then ran down the court to get good position and take her second charge of the game and giving the ball back to Corry. With .27 seconds left Kemp was fouled again, draining 1of 2 foul shots going up 19-17. Fairview had another chance with under .10 on the clock, but Corry defended their baseline out of bounds play well, and was able to force the turnover, control the ball, and secure the win. For the game Comitz led all scorers with 12, Kemp with 4 and West with 3. Fairview is well known for their solid basketball program, and we knew it would be a tough match up. Our girls held the lead for the majority of the game. They did a great job of keeping their composure when Fairview tied it back up. The girls also did well adjusting their defense toward the end of the game to try not to foul. Mikayla had herself a game today not only offensively, but defensively as well with six steals. As a team, we were almost 50% from the foul line, including clutch ones near the end of the game. Our girls learned a lot this game, and can use this experience going forward for other tight games. Their constant hustle and teamwork earned them this win. The 7th graders are back at it again tomorrow at Iroquois.

The 7th graders made quick work of North East on Friday, going up 10 nothing with their pesky defense, full court press, and steals. North East was able to get one basket in the first quarter but that was it until the 4th quarter when they managed four more buckets. Meanwhile, Corry had no problems getting their offense going. Ava West led all scores with 10 points Mikayla Comitz, Baylee Northrop, and Maci Kemp each had six points and Liv Swan added four. This was a great game for us to work on our different plays and actually run through them. Our subs also got significant minutes and were also able to run through the plays and get more comfortable on the court. As a team we only had eight turnovers which is a nice low number for us. The girls were very unselfish with the basketball, which showed with our 8 assists. We saw a lot of good passes, and even though we didn't convert every time, just getting it ahead to the open girl is something we love to see. Our next game is home on Tuesday versus Fairview.

With the score 19-10 to start the 4th quarter, Corry was able to finish strong and win its third quarter in a row 12-9 and the game with a final score of 31-19.

Morgan Vanderschaaff and Madi Leofsky were the only Corry players to score with Morgan scoring 6 pts and Madi scoring 7 pts. I thought both girls played well on both sides of the floor.
Baylee Kuzma, Koda Kuzma, and Lucy Hasbrouck each had 1 assist.

Corry was able to score 6 unanswered points with Lauren Fox, Madi, and Koda each getting a bucket to give Corry a trilling 19-12 win.
Madi led all scorers with 8 pts.
I was really pleased with our play in the 2nd half. The girls fought hard and made a much-needed adjustment from the first half, notably the need to box out a taller Girard team.
It's a great learning experience for the girls to be in a close game. They got to experience late game pressure and as a bonus, got the win.

It was a tight game the whole way against the visiting Yellow Jackets. Corry came out strong getting six points, 2 each from Mikayla Comitz Liv Swan and Baylee Northrop. However, Girard answered with eight of their own points draining several mid-range shots. Corry turned up the intensity in the second quarter forcing several Girard turnovers but were only able to get four points, 2 from West and 2 from Molly Harrington, to Girard's four points. Girard holding the slim two point advantage at the half. Corry got the lead back in the third quarter getting a basket from Maci Kemp and a foul shot from West while holding Girard scoreless. The battle continued into the 4th. Corry got a bucket from Comitz but Girard was able to get 4 points of their own to take the slim lead by 1 with 1:35 to go in the game. Corry answered with two quick buckets from Comitz and Northrop, to take the lead and get the win. It was a hard fought battle in a hot gym. We did not have our A game today, but were able to overcome some of our mistakes with our hustle and high energy. As with the 8th grade game, it was a great learning experience for these girls, playing in a high pressure situation. Getting the win was icing on the cake. Corry plays at Seneca on Tuesday.

7th grade game
Corry 7-5-9-6 27
General McLane 0-2-1-10. 13
Corry started out strong in the first quarter and never looked back. The girls were attacking the hoop and either scored or drew a foul. Four different girls contributed seven points, while holding General McLane to zero. The girls kept the intensity up, winning the second quarter 5 to 2 to go up 12 to 2 at halftime. There was no let up after the break. The girls scored nine points to GM's one. General McLane was finally able to put more points on the board in the fourth quarter winning 10 to 6. The damage was done however, Corry taking home the win 27 to 13. The seventh graders controlled the game right from the jump. Their hustle was unmatched and GM struggled to keep up.
