Seneca jumped out to an early 1st half lead and never looked back. Corry went in to the half down 28-6 and eventually lost 41-13. Seneca played us hard. They had great energy and played very aggressive defense.
Morgan Vanderschaaff and Madi Leofsky were the only Corry players to score with Morgan scoring 6 pts and Madi scoring 7 pts. I thought both girls played well on both sides of the floor.
Baylee Kuzma, Koda Kuzma, and Lucy Hasbrouck each had 1 assist.
We will put this game behind us and start preparing for Fort Leboeuf.
7th Grade Game
Corry 5 -4 -7 -12 26
Seneca 2-0-4-4 10
It was a very physical game from the tip off. Seneca found themselves in foul trouble in the first quarter, Corry going to the line 3 times and draining half of them. Corry kept up the intensity in the second. Seneca's foul troubles continued in the second, also getting Corry into the double bonus for the half. Corry's intense defense gave up very few shots and held Seneca to only 2 points which they got at the opening of the first quarter. Corry was up 9-2 at the half. Corry kept it up in the 3rd winning the quarter 7-4. The Corry girls were finally able to break it open in the fourth getting 12 points to seal the deal. Baylee Northrop led all scorers with 9, Liv Swan with 8, Mikayla Comitz with 5 and Ava West with 4. Ava West had an outstanding game defensively with 12 steals. The girls did a great job on defense today allowing Seneca very few shots. It was a very physical game, but the girls kept their composure and kept driving to the hoop. We had 22 opportunities at the line today. Our free throw percentage wasnt the best, but the girls are not afraid to drive to the hoop and make something happen. Seneca had some height but our aggressiveness overame their size advantage. Next game is home on Thursday vs. Ft. LeBoeuf
