Corry Wins Back-to-Back D10 Volleyball Titles
The Corry volleyball team had one of its better matches at the best time of the year. The ladybeavers were hitting on all cylinders early and often in their sweep of the Cathedral Prep ramblers.Corry dominated the first set and continued with solid wins in the second and third set.Corry scored the first point of the first set on a double block by freshman Ava West and junior Rylee Nickerson. Junior Grace Allen broke an early 2-2 tie with three kills and then an ace made the early score 7-3. Fellow junior outside hitter, Regan Kemp, had two kills and the lead grew to11-4. Middle hitter Rylee Nickerson had two consecutive kills off sets by junior setter Haley Mumau forcing Cathedral Prep into their first time out with Corry leading 15-5. Goodsel Named PIAA/NFHS Girls Volleyball Coach of the Year
Corry Area High School is excited to announce that Head Girls' Volleyball Coach Kelly Goodsel has been named as the 2024-2025 PIAA/NFHS Girls' Volleyball Coach of the Year.Per the PIAA press release, there were 25 coaches names across the state for all PIAA sponsored sports. The honorees are chosen for their significant impact on their respective sports programs, the success of their teams, their commitment to PIAA, and their demonstration of outstanding sportsmanship throughout the year. Corry's Volleyball team earned the State Runner-Up title in 2024. They are currently ranked #1 in the state per the AVCA Coaches poll. The girls' success is both on and off the court - as they are multiple year recipients of the AVCA Academic Recognition. They also host a Charity Night annually and have raised thousands for local charities. The team is also supportive of all athletes at Corry Area High School and they can be seen cheering on their peers at many of

Nolan Carey to Penn State
Recent graduate and PIAA State Javelin Champion Nolan Carey has now committed to Penn State for track and field. Carey recently competed at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Bend, Oregon where he placed second nationally with a throw of 220'2". This was 1 inch shorter than the first place throw. Congratulations Nolan, and good luck with your future track career at Penn State!

2025-2026 Athletic Physicals
Students interested in playing sports during the 2025-2026 school year can get their mandatory sports physical for free at the school during the day on May 15th or May 20th. In order to get this free physical athletes will need to complete the attached physical packet. The packet must be completed by them and their parents and returned to the high school office in order to be signed up for an appointment. Appointments will not be made if the packet is incomplete. We only have 135 appointments available and there will not be another free physical opportunity for the 2025-2026 school year. Appointments will be on a first come, first serve basis. Packets are also available at the high school office and the school district administration office.

Corry Sweeps into the Semi-Finals
Girls Varsity VolleyballCorry volleyball has made it back to the PIAA state semi-finals fortwo consecutive years after a convincing three set sweep over Bald Eagle Area (BEA - winners of District 6). In front of a large Corry crowd, the lady beavers jumped out to an early 13-4 lead on a balanced offense; juniors Grace Allen, Rylee Nickerson, and freshman Ava West racked up seven kills before BEA took their first timeout. The teams basically played even the rest of the way with Corry winning the first set 25-17. The second set was much more competitive with the set tied at 4-4 and 5-5, when Corry stretched out the lead to 12-8 on a Regan Kemp kill followed by a Kemp – Kendall Donoghue block. BEA served, got a kill and a service ace and the score narrowed to 13-11. Corry settled down and rattled off 12 of the next 15 points;senior setter Ava Hallberg connected with outside hitter Regan Kemp and pushed the lady beavers to a 25-14 set win. Girls Middle School BasketballCorry: 4-2-2-4-----12Fairview: 12-10-13-6-----41 Corry squared off against the undefeated Fairview Tigers Thursday afternoon in girls’ basketball action. Though Fairview won the game 41-12, Corry had a much better showing compared to the first time they played. Our goal was to play them better than we did the first time around and I thought we accomplished that. Cate Moore and Allison Knapp led the Beavers offensively with 4 pts each followed by Kenzi Proper and Ellie Harvey with 2 pts each. Ellie also recorded 2 assists while Allison had 1. Cate led us defensively with 4 steals while Cecilia Hodak and Allison had 1 steal each. Allison recorded 6 rebounds to lead the Beavers on the glass. Ellie recorded 3 rebounds, Cecilia and Lea Terrill had 2 each, and Kenzi had 1 rebound. Next week is our last week of the season as we prepare to play in the 8th grade tournament at North East.

The Huskies proved to be too much for the Beavers, rolling to a 42-6 win. Cecilia Hodak, Cate Moore, and Allison Knapp scored 2 pts each to lead the Beavers. Girls Varsity VolleyballThe Corry volleyball team wrapped up an undefeated (14-0) regular season with a 3-0 sweep of Saegertown. The healthy playoff roster got playing time including the three seniors: Ava Hallbergl led the team with 25 assists, Brynley Watrous and Sydney Mineo both had 8 digs and several aces. The junior class included Regan Kemp who led the team with 10 kills, both Grace Allen and Rylee Nickerson had 9 kills each, and Kendall Donoghue, Ali Yetzer, and Ellie Carey contributed defensively. Girls Varsity VolleyballCorry volleyball fans had a lot to celebrate on Tuesday night, it started with recognizing threewonderful seniors: Ava Hallberg, Brynley Watrous, and Sydney Mineo, and ended with the teamcelebrating the third straight Region 4 Championship!Corry’s starting line up in set one included the three seniors filling the back row, Ava Hallbergsetting, Sydney Mineo as defensive specialist, and Brynley Watrous as libero. The Beavers started out strong with a 5-0 lead in the first quarter. They kept the momentum going for a 9-3 lead at half and never let up, ending in a 18-11 victory. Offensively, Allison Knapp led with 12 points, 1 assist, 4 steals, MaKenzi Proper had 3 points, 1 assist, 4 steals, Kendyl Brink 2 points, 2 steals, Maddie Cullers 1 point, 4 steals, Lilianna Richardson 1 assist, 1 steal, Becca Ormsbee 1 steal.
