Girard - 0 - 12 - 8 - 6 =26 Corry - 9 - 10 - 14 - 11 = 44   Halle Albers - 6pts, 3reb, 4ast, 1 stl Reagen Porter - 0pts Kaygen Rogers - 8pts, 3reb, 1ast, 5stls Tayler Elchynski - 13pts, 3reb, 5stls Aubrey Chase - 0pts Kaycee Porter - 4pts, 1reb, 3ast, 2stls Kaelyn Patterson - 0pts Alyssa Burlew - 4pts, 4reb, 3ast, 4stls Lauren Thomas - 4pts, 1reb, 1stl Sadye Dyne - 5pts, 7reb, 1ast, 2stls Mallory Dahlgren - 0pts, 1reb   I am so proud of this team and the effort they put forth night in and night out. Our full court pressure in the first quarter threw off their tempo and allowed us to get some steals and some good looks for a 9-0 lead after one quarter.  We missed a couple short range shots in the second quarter and Girard knocked down some threes to keep it close going into halftime.   I thought our defensive pressure was the difference in the game.  Halle Albers and Tayler Elchynski did a nice job suffocating their point guard and held her in check most of the night. Alyssa Burlew, Sadye Dyne, and Kaygen Rogers played great deny defense and made it difficult for them to get into an offensive set.  You have to love the effort this team gives.  Our guards of Burlew, Albers, Kaycee Porter and Elchynski are extremely quick and their motors don't stop.  The Team as a whole did a nice job limiting them to one shot.  Dyne is becoming a force on the glass leading us again with 7 rebounds. Our offense was very balanced scoring at least nine points each quarter and with seven different girls all scoring at least 4 points.  Elchynski led the way with 13 including three big three pointers and 11 total points in the second half to help us pull away.  Kaygen Rogers and Halle Albers provided some scoring power off the bench with 8 and 6 points respectively.  Dyne chipped in 5 points.  It was nice to see Lauren Thomas be aggressive and attack the basket and Burlew knock down a couple shots to each finish with 4 points.  We moved the ball pretty well and for the most part made good decisions with the ball. Lindsey Hasbrouck is resting a leg injury so it was great to have Reagan Porter and Mallory Dahlgren give us some great minutes.  As a coach, it is very reassuring when you know that players are ready to go when called on. We are a relatively young and inexperienced team at this point of the season but it is a lot of fun to watch these girls figure stuff out.  We are 2-1 and have a big test versus Seneca on Monday.  They return some key players and will be a huge test for us.  We need to work on finishing at the hoop, executing the fine points of our plays and communicating a little better.  Hopefully we will get a lot of fans out to watch on Monday.
Girls Varsity Basketball vs. Reynolds
2.0 years ago | Michael Daniels
Win: 37 - 17
Here is information on the Reynolds game.   Corry - 13 - 12 - 9 - 3 = 37 Reynolds - 6 - 4 - 4 - 3 = 17   Halle Albers - 2pts, 2 reb Reagan Porter - 1pt,  Kaygen Rogers - 2pts, 2 reb, 1blk Tayler Elchynski - 11pts, 4reb, 5ast, 2stls Aubrey Chase - 0pts, 1reb Kaycee Porter - 12pts, 5reb, 2ast, 4stls Kaelyn Patterson- 0pts Alyssa Burlew - 7pts, 7reb, 2ast, 3stls Lauren Thomas - 0pts, 1reb, 1ast, 1stl Sadye Dyne - 4pts, 7reb, 1ast, 1stl Lindsey Hasbrouck - 0pts, 3reb, 1ast, 1stl Mallory Dahlgren - 0pts, 3reb, 1ast, 1stl What a difference a day makes.  We played with much more confidence tonight.  Our three goals going into the game were to execute offensively, rebound and to not panic.  And tonight we did all of those things.   Offensively the girls executed our offensive plan extremely well.  Reynolds played a 1-2-2 zone against us and the girls moved the ball and found the open girl for good looks.  We scored 13 and 12 points in the first two quarters respectively.  And at the half we talked about putting the game away and the girls responded and did that scoring 9 more points to be up 34-14.  That allowed us to get everyone into the game.  I love watching the girls be aggressive and shooting when they are open or getting to the hoop if overplayed.  Kaycee Porter led us in scoring with 12 points including two 3's and followed by Elchynski with 11 points including three 3's.  Burlew had a great all around game with 7 points including a 3. And it was great to see Kaygen Rogers and Reagan Porter each score their first varsity points.   We dominated the boards with 32 total rebounds including 17 offensive rebounds.  Dyne and Burlew each had 7 rebounds with Dyne having 6 defensive and Burlew 5 offensive.  We had 13 assists on a total of 15 FG which is awesome and shows how well the girls moved the ball and found their open teammates. Our defensive pressure caused Reynolds problems all night.  We emphasized on the ball pressure and aggressively denying that first pass and the team really executed.  We ended the game with 11 steals, led by Porter and Burlew with 4 and 3 respectively.  We also had 21 deflections, led by Elchynski with 8.  And only committed 12 fouls for the game.  Dahlgren and Hasbrouck did a great job as well when they were in and you can always count on them giving 120%. After leaving 10 seniors to graduation last year, it has been so much fun to see how much this group has improved since our first scrimmage on Monday to winning our first game on Saturday We still committed 15 turnovers so we need to keep working on being strong with the ball, using our pivot, and dribbling with a purpose. Although getting the first win is exciting, we will turn our focus this week to Girard who visits the Beaver Dam on Thursday.
Girls Varsity Basketball vs. Saegertown

Saegertown    7    5    5    12    =29 Corry              7    0    7     3      =17   Halle Albers - Opts, 1 reb Reagan Porter - 0pts Kaygen Rogers - 0pts, 1 reb Tayler Elchynski - 3pts, 5 reb, 2 ast, 4 stls Aubry Chase - 0pts Kaycee Porter - 9pts, 4 reb, 1 stl Kaelyn Patterson - 0pts Alyssa Burlew - 3 pts, 5 stls, 4 reb Lauren Thomas - 2pts, 2 reb Sadye Dyne - 0pts, 7 reb Lindsey Hasbrouck - 0 pts, 2 reb Mallory Dahlgren - 0pts, Although we ended up on the wrong end of the score we did a lot of things pretty good. We don't have a lot of varsity experience and that was very evident at times. We got off to a good start in both the first and third quarters but just couldn't keep it going the whole game. We worked the ball for a lot of good looks but just couldn't get the lid off the hoop. We faced a very physical team and we didn't handle it well at times.  We will work on some things next week to keep improving. I was excited about the bright spots,  It gives us a lot to work from. In the second quarter we had several unforced turnovers that really took away our momentum. Kaycee Porter had a great all around game.  It was great to see her knock down three three pointers.  She has really developed into a shooting threat Alyssa Burlew has a motor that never stops and she was a force on defense with 5 steals   Tayler Elchynski had a good all around game and handled the point good.
