The Lady Beavers faced off against the Fairview Tigers in the championship game. Corry split with Fairview during the regular season so everyone knew it was going to be a good game. Corry jumped out to an early six to one lead with Baylee Northrop and Maci Kemp scoring 2 points each while Ava West and Mikayla Comitz notched 1 pt each. In the second, Jordyn Watrous, Liv Swan, and Baylee all registered a bucket for Corry. Fairview, however was able to score 9 to cut their deficit to two with a halftime score of 12-10 Corry. In the third, Fairview continued where they left off by scoring 10 while Corry could only muster 5: 3 pts from Mikayla and 2 pts from Maci. With Corry down by 3 at the end of quarter three, the Beavers knew it was now or never. They had six minutes to play Corry Basketball. Six minutes to give maximum effort, great energy, and enjoy the last quarter of middle school basketball. The girls did exactly that. They poured in eleven points with Mikayla earning 4 pts, Ava with 3 pts, and Baylee and Maci with 2 pts each while simultaneously holding the Tigers to 3 pts. With Corry's monster 4th quarter, the Beavers earned the win 28-23 and are tournament champions. 

Defensively we were led by Ava with 8 steals, 4 blocks, and 4 rebounds. Jordyn had 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Mikayla had 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Maci had 2 assists and 1 steal. Baylee had 1 assist and Liv had 1 rebound. 

I can't say enough about this team. They are a great group of young ladies who are coachable, hardworking, smart, adaptive, and funny. They finished off their middle school season on a nine game win streak, we're playing great team basketball, and we're playing some really tough defense. I'm looking forward to seeing what these girls can do in the years to come.
