Corry:  12-7-5-7-----31

Maplewood:  2-9-8-4------23

The 8th grade Lady Beavers traveled to Maplewood for their last regular season game. Corry jumped out to an early 12-2 lead with strong ball pressure and quick transition play. Maplewood settled down in the second with both teams making hard-earned baskets. Though the Tigers won the quarter 7-9, Corry headed into halftime up 19-11.

In the third, Corry was unable to regain the momentum and found themselves holding on to a 24-19 lead. The girls knew what they had to do. It was just a matter of going out and executing. Starting the 4th, Corry flipped a switched. The Lady Beavers slowed down, took back control of the game, and really tightened up the defense. They were able to hold the Tigers to 2 points for most of the quarter while scoring 7 of their own to win the game 31-23.

I was proud of how the girls responded in the 4th. It was a great learning experience. We have one more practice before we face GM in the tournament on Thursday. 

Leading the way for Corry was Maci Kemp with 10 pts, 4 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Ava West finished with 12 pts, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 7 steals. Mikayla Comitz had 7 pts, 1 rebound, and 5 steals while Jordyn Watrous had 2 pts, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Liv Swan finished with 2 rebounds-2 steals. Baylee Northrop had 1 rebound-1 steal. Hannah Daniels had 1 steal-1 block while Delaney Church had 1 rebound-1 steal and Emma Kight with 1 rebound.
