Give Titusville credit. They could have folded in the 4th quarter, but instead mounted a comeback. Luckily, our girls were able to stay calm, run some clock, make some timely buckets, and never give up the lead. The girls collected 20 steals thanks to their tough defense. I thought Kaelyn had a strong defensive night pulling 4 rebounds and getting 4 steals. She really stepped up and filled a position that needed filled.

I also thought Mallory had a solid all-around game.

We had a lot of nice looks at the hoop, just couldn't get our shots to fall. Luckily, our defense kept it close for us.  We went on a little run in the 2nd to tie it up. Finally, our shots started falling in the 4th scoring 14 pts while our defense held them to 4 pts.   I thought Halle, Kaycee, and Lindsey played well with the limited minutes they had.  Mallory, Kaygen, and Aubrey did a great job on the boards. It was great to see Ruby get her first bucket of the season. The best stat of all was to see that all 10 girls either scored or earned an assist. That's awesome! That's team basketball!!!

We had some great looks in the second half. I loved our hustle tonight, especially from Kaygen. Throughout the entire game, she was going all out.  She was diving for loose balls, led us in rebounds with 7, and took a charge. I love how the girls are improving each game. We will get better tomorrow and start prepping for Meadville.

I am really proud of them. I loved our ball movement. We were finding the open girls and making correct reads. It was nice to see our defense hold them to 2 field goals in the 2nd half (the rest were foul shots). Aubrey led all scorers with 11 pts. Great team win!!

Getting in early foul trouble really hurt us in the second quarter.  I was pleased with how Kaycee was looking to go to the bucket tonight to create opportunities.  Halle gave us positive minutes tonight.

We didn't play with our normal defensive intensity. Offensively, we had some good looks at the hoop but just couldn't get them to fall. The 2nd half we played better, especially in the 4th quarter. Our shots started to fall and we were creating opportunities. Reagan Porter and Lindsey Hasbrouck scored all of Corry's points in the 4th quarter with Reagan tallying 6 and Lindsey with 5.

They held Iroquois scoreless in the 3rd quarter to put the game away. -Aubrey continues to lead us on the defensive side of the ball with her all-out hustle and ball pressure.  By converting some steals into layups, she ended with a game high 6 pts. She has really stepped up her game and has shown much improvement.  -Lindsey led us on the boards with 5. She had a solid all-around game. -It is nice to see our team defense continue to improve. The girls are starting to communicate more which is tightening our defense.  -JV got our first win of the season.

We ended up with 12 steals as a team.  -We are still looking to put together a complete game and improve on both sides of the ball.

Both had season highs. -The girls played their best game so far this year.  I really liked our intensity throughout the entire game.  -The girls are improving and it's showing on the court.  I'm proud of their effort and how well they played today.

Regan Porter:  5 pts Aubrey Chase:  1 pt Kaelyn Patterson:  3 pts Mallory Dahlgren:  4 pts     We started slow and let Union City get an early lead.     We picked up our intensity in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.  I liked how we played in those quarters.  Our defense got us back to within 5 heading into the 4th.   Aubrey Chase had her best game of the season so far.  She pulled down multiple rebounds, stole the ball, and had some nice drives to the hoop.   Lindsey Hasbrouck did a good job for us on the boards.   We need to do a better job at the free throw line only connecting on 3 of 10.

Fairview:  8-9-11-8----36 Corry:  0-1-8-9----18 1st half we started slow and got behind early. Aubrey Chase made a free throw for Corry's only point in the half. 2nd half we started to play and picked up our energy.  Dreya Titch led us on the defensive end with multiple deflections.  Aubrey and Kaygen Rodgers led us in scoring with 5 pts each. Mallory Dahlgren followed with 4 pts. Kaelyn Patterson and Lindsey Hasbrouck had 2 pts each. I really liked how the girls made a game of it in the 2nd half. They could have given up and lost by 40, but instead showed some grit and played a tough 2nd half.

It showed us where we are as a team and what we need to improve on. *We need to work on staying calm with the ball, seeing the floor, and tightening up our defense.  *Overall, I thought the girls played well for their first game of the season and am looking forward to seeing their growth as the season progresses.
