FAIRVIEW HIGH SCHOOL: 23
Corry: 4-2-8-2----16
Fairview: 6-4-6-7----23
Corry knew Fairview was going to be a good game and it was. Corry battled hard all game and was able to stay within a bucket or 2 for three quarters. After one, Corry was down 4-6. In the second, Fairview extended their lead to 10-6. Corry continued applying pressure in the third to cut the deficit in half with a score of 14-16. Corry was unable to complete the comeback in the fourth, eventually falling to Fairview 23-16.
I really loved our effort today. All four quarters, the girls were giving me all they had.
Corry was led by Ava West with 8 pts, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 6 steals. Mikayla Comitz ended the game with 6 pts, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal. Jordyn Watrous finished with 2 pts and 1 steal. Maci Kemp had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Liv Swan had 3 rebounds-2 steals while Hannah Daniels had 1 steal and Delaney Church had 1 rebound.
Corry: 4-0-2-6. 12
Fairview: 4-6-10-4. 24
The always solid Fairview Tigers came to town to face the 7th graders. It was back and forth in the first quarter, with not much offense. Both teams netting 4 points. In the second, Fairview was able to take advantage of a few breakdowns in the Beavers D to go up 6 points at the half. The little Beavers struggled to stop Fairview in the third, giving up 10 points and only scoring two. Corry made some defensive adjustments in the fourth quarter. They were able to win the quarter 6-4, but came up short for the game, losing 24-12. Corry was led by Cate Moore with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Ellie Harvey had 4 points and three rebounds. Makenzi Proper added 2 rebounds and 2 steals. CC Hodak with 2 rebounds, Aspen Trask with 1 rebound and 1 steal, Lea Terrill with 1 rebound, and Lilianna Richardson with one block. We knew Fairview would be a tough, physical matchup. The girls played hard all game. We need to do a better job on the boards and with our help defense. I'm seeing little improvements every game though. We are back at it tomorrow at Titusville.
