Here is your report for the JV game vs. Conneaut Ohio:

 

The Corry JV football team played its second straight home game Saturday morning, taking on the Conneaut of Ohio. The Beavers came away with their second win of the season, defeating Conneaut 34-6.

 

Corry opened the scoring in the first quarter, going up 6-0 on a seven yard touchdown pass from Marcus Meredith to Nathan Weis. The Beavers added two more touchdowns in the second quarter to take an 18-0 lead at the half. Frankie Barr scored on a two yard plunge, and Weis had his second TD of the game on a 25 yard scamper. 

 

Corry extended their lead to 32-0 in the third quarter on Weis' third TD of the game, a 5 yard run. In the fourth quarter, Jack Hallberg scored on a five yard run, and Corry's defense, which was stout all day long, was able to add two points on a safety. Conneaut tacked on a touchdown pass late in the game to close out the scoring at 34-6.

 

The Beaver's pounded out 200 yards on the ground, and added another 41 yards through the air. Barr led the rushing attack with 15 carries for 87 yards and a TD, while Weis finished with 49 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the ground. Blake Cook chipped in 33 yards rushing, and Cooper Hodak added another 20. The offensive line, led by Owen Nickerson, Carson Meredith, Ryan Martin, Aiden Trask, Greyson Linkerhof, and Landon Bowen was solid all day long.  Noah Fisher was the leading Beaver receiver with two catches for 31 yards.

 

On defense, the Corry shut out Conneaut for almost the entire game. Fisher led the Corry defense with 10 tackles, while Linkerhof and Tyler Aderhold 9 tackles of their own. Nickerson and Alex Schmidt each had a sack, and Linkerhof's sack resulted in a safety. Gabe Scouten and Weis both recorded an interception for the Corry D.

 

The Corry JV team upped their record to 2-1 on the season. This Saturday, they will travel to Harbor Creek to take on the Huskies at 10:00.
