HARBOR CREEK HIGH SCHOOL: 20

The Corry JV football team traveled to Harbor Creek on Saturday morning to take on the Huskies. Harbor Creek won the game 20-0, dropping the JV record to 2-2 on the year.

On Corry's opening drive, on their first play, the Beavers ran a pitch-play to the outside. Unfortunately, the pitch was fumbled and the Huskies scooped up the ball and scored to go up 6-0. A defensive struggle ensued, with neither team doing much offensively for the remainder of the first half. The second half was very similar, with both teams struggling to move the football. The 6-0 score lasted until midway through the fourth quarter, when Harbor Creek put together a drive to go up 14-0. The Huskies tacked on a pick-six interception with a minute left in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring at 20-0.

Offensively, the Corry rushing attack was grounded, but the Beavers were able to move the ball through the air for 119 yards. Marcus Meredith was 11-16 passing, while Gabe Scouten and Marshall Morris paced the receivers with 36 yards receiving each.

The defense only gave up one TD. Carson Meredith and Noah Fisher led the Beaver defense with eight tackles each, as well as a sack each. Owen Nickerson recovered a fumble. The defense played extremely well.

The Corry JV will have an opportunity to right the ship next Saturday as they play against the General McLane Lancers.
