Score
: 26
SENECA HIGH SCHOOL: 29

The Corry high school girls team defeated host Seneca 26-29 to improve to 7-0 and secure their third straight region title.    I am really happy that the girls were able to pull out the win today.  The course had huge puddles, was muddy, had uneven footing, and it was windy and cool, but they persevered as a team through the tough conditions and should be proud of their regular season accomplishments.  Sophomore Jordan Fox won with a time of 21:56 to go undefeated in the region, which guarantees her receiving a second straight region 4 runner of the year award.  Jordan ran well today despite not feeling great.  She is a great person and a true champion.  Haeleigh Bayle battled hard and finished in 4th with a time of 22:50.  Camryn Fox (5th, 23:22), Teya Bailey (7th, 23:50), and Teryn Bailey (9th, 24:18) rounded out the scoring for the girls team.  The high school boys team won 21-36 and improved to 5-2 thanks to an awesome effort from the dominant trio of Fabian Fourspring (1st, 18:15), Stephen Brady (2nd, 18:32), and Tony Kerr (3rd, 18:35).  Tavon Kornikoski (6th, 19:46), Judah Zinz (9th, 20:15), and Brandon Jackson (10th, 20:15) also ran well and earned top ten finishes.  The boys team had a great season.  We had a one point loss to perennial powerhouse North East and a loss to the senior laden Harbor Creek team.  They responded well to the adversity of losing one of their top runners early in the season and finished it out strong today.  I'm excited about the younger guys who are starting to cut the gap to our top runners.  We also had sophomore Roo Hellyer (11th, 20:17) and freshman Ethan Behm (12th, 20:26) in the mix today.  Both Corry middle school teams improved to 7-0 with 15-50 victories over Seneca to claim region titles.  Chloe Jaworski won again with a time of 11:11.  Chloe has the rare combination of being really talented while also being very scrappy and competitive.  We are really excited about how well she is progressing and can't wait to see how she competes in the championship season.  Finley Fourspring (2nd, 11:27), Laikynn Bayle (4th, 11:42), Lauren Brundage (6th, 12:21), and Makenna Williams (7th, 12:53) were the other scorers for the region champs.  The boys middle school team was led by strong races from Paxton Zinz (2nd, 10:00), Landon Atha (3rd, 10:12), and Weston Atha (4th, 10:22).  Aaron Davis (7th, 11:50) and Bryce Chelton (8th, 11:52) sealed the victory for the Beavers.  I am so proud of our athletes and impressed with how well they managed this difficult dual meet schedule.  The combined region record for our four teams was 26 - 2 for the season!  The Corry XC teams will next compete at the Northwest PA Championship race on Saturday 10/22 at the Harbor Creek Community Park.
