Stephen Brady won the Dirty Dawg Invitational on Saturday with a personal best time of 17:20. Stephen ran incredibly well today. He started around 5th overall at the half mile and then really took over the race. It was the strongest and most confident I have ever seen him during a race. The boys team took 3rd out of 16 teams and many of them ran personal best times. Tony Kerr (17:35, 5th), Tavon Kornikoski (18:09, 16th), Judah Zinz (19:06, 27th), Roo Hellyer (19:23, 35th), Brandon Jackson (19:32, 38th), and Ethan Behm (19:54, 46th) were the other varsity runners for the Beavers. The girls varsity team took 3rd out of 15 teams and were led by Jordan Fox who finished in 4th place with a time of 20:42. Haeleigh Bayle (22:06, 18th), Shay Linden (22:59, 29th), Teya Bailey (23:09, 31st), Gwen Adams (24:34, 45th), Teryn Bailey (24:42, 45th), and Addie Pillar (25:26, 55th) all ran well in the cool conditions. The girls middle school team won their second invitational of the year edging out Fort Leboeuf by three points. Chloe Jaworski led the way once again with an 8th place finish in 14:41. Laikynn Bayle (15:00, 10th) and Finley Fourspring (15:14, 16th) both had phenomenal races as well. Lauren Brundage (15:26, 19th) and Cora Bowen (17:03, 47th) rounded out the scoring for the team. Paxton Zinz (13:00, 7th) and Bryce Chelton (14:44, 40th) performed well in the middle school boys race. Camryn Fox won the JV race in 23:35. It was great having Camryn back on the course. She has been battling a pretty serious injury but she ran a great first race of the season. Pierce Sutton won the JV boys race in 19:41 and teammate Will Boucher also ran well finishing 4th in 19:46. We had a lot of solid performances today and are looking forward to our dual meet on Friday against Seneca. Our high school girls team and both middle school teams will be running for region titles against Seneca.
