HARBOR CREEK HIGH SCHOOL: 36

The Corry high school girls cross country team improved to a perfect 6-0 with a 22-36 victory over Harbor Creek on Tuesday.  Jordan Fox remained undefeated in the region with a victory in a time of 20:30.   Jordan put in the work over the summer and it is really showing.  She has run consistently well in all of the dual meets and is only one win away from being named region runner of the year for the 2nd year in a row.  Haeleigh Bayle (3rd, 22:05), Shay Linden (5th, 23:31), Teya Bailey (6th, 24:03), and Gwen Adams (7th, 24:41) were the other scorers for the team.  Sophomore Teryn Bailey also cracked the top ten with an 8th place finish in 24:43.  The high school boys team dropped to 4-2 with a loss to a tough, senior laden Harbor Creek squad.  Stephen Brady (3rd, 17:38) and Tony Kerr (4th, 17:40) ran well to pace the Beavers.  Tavon Kornikoski (7th, 18:38), Brandon Jackson (10th, 19:46), and Ethan Behm (14th, 20:05) rounded out the scoring for the boys team.  Both middle school teams improved to 6-0 in the region with the girls winning 26-29 and the boys winning 23-32. Harbor Creek consistently has one of the best programs in the area, so I'm really proud of how well our middle school athletes competed today.  Chloe Jaworski continued her stellar season with a victory in 14:41.  The trio of Finley Fourspring (4th, 14:57), Laikynn Bayle (5th, 15:10), and Lauren Brundage (6th, 15:27) packed up nicely and ran well on the two mile course.  Newcomer Makenna Williams sealed the victory for the Beavers as she finished in 10th place with an impressive time of 16:33.  I have really enjoyed watching this team compete, because we have different athletes stepping up big for the team each race.  Lauren Brundage and Julia Brenner helped seal the victory on Saturday and then Makenna really came up big for us today.  The boys middle school team remained unbeaten as a result of another strong race from the outstanding trio of Paxton Zinz (1st, 13:21), Landon Atha (2nd, 13:42), and Weston Atha (3rd, 13:53).  Bryce Chelton had a great day for the Beavers as well finishing in 7th place with a 15:12.  Aaron Davis was the final scorer with a 10th place finish in 16:07.  The Corry XC teams next compete back at Harbor Creek on Saturday in the Dirty Dawg Invitational.
