WARREN AREA HIGH SCHOOL: 50
The Corry boys high school team improved to 3-1 on the season with a convincing 15-49 victory over Youngsville. Stephen Brady won his third race in a row with a time of 18:31. Corry took the next five spots with Tony Kerr (2nd, 18:48), Tavon Kornikoski (3rd, 19:18), Fabian Fourspring (4th, 19:25), Judah Zinz (5th, 21:05), and Roo Hellyer (6th, 21:12). The high school girls team improved to a perfect 4-0 with a 15-50 victory over the Eagles. Jordan Fox remained unbeaten in dual meets with her fourth victory of the season in a time of 22:27. Haeleigh Bayle took 2nd in 22:56. Teya Bailey (5th, 25:07), Shay Linden (6th, 25:36), and Gwen Adams (7th, 26:27) rounded out the top five for the Beavers. The Corry boys and girls middle school teams both improved to 4-0 on the season. The boys won 29-37 and were led by another victory from Paxton Zinz in a time of 9:47. Weston Atha had a really strong race as well finishing in 2nd in 9:58. Landon Atha (4th, 10:35), Bryce Chelton (6th, 12:02), and Brock Anthony (7th, 12:08) rounded out the scoring. The girls won 15-50 behind strong efforts from Chloe Jaworski (1st, 11:06), Finley Fourspring (2nd, 11:20), Laikynn Bayle (3rd, 11:28), Zoey Higby (4th, 12:51), and Cora Bowen (5th, 12:56). I am really proud of how well the kids ran today considering this was their fourth race in a nine day stretch. Almost all of the middle school athletes ran their best time of the season, and we are really excited about their strong start to the season! The Corry XC team will next be in action on Tuesday 9/20 at Union City High School. The Corry XC team will also be hosting their annual Soup and Salad fundraiser dinner on Friday September 16 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the high school cafeteria prior to the home football game against Harbor Creek.
