Corry hosted the Fairview Tigers who are currently undefeated in region play.  Corry started off strong with 6 unanswered points and were able to finish the quarter up 8-6.  Corry continued to battle in the second with strong defense to head into halftime down 18-15.  The Beavers continued playing well in the third.  They were able to hold Fairview to 2 pts while scoring 4 of their own to finish the quarter, down only one point.  With a score of 20-19 with 8 minutes left to play, Corry gave it everything they had but were unable to find the bottom of the net.  With a couple late buckets by Fairview, the Tigers pulled away to earn the victory with a score of 30-20. Congratulations to Bre Heidt for scoring her 1,000 pt.  Bre came into the game at 999 pts for her career. Late in the first quarter, Bre made her first free throw attempt to hit the thousand-point club and become the second girl in school history to accomplish this feat.

Leading the way for the Beavers was Haley Mumau with 9 pts-2 assists followed by Grace Allen with 4 pts-2 assists, Rylee Nickerson with 3 pts, and Sadye Dyne and Regan Kemp with 2 pts-1 assist each. Nickerson finished the game with 8 rebounds-3 steals followed by Mumau with 4 rebounds-5 steals, Dyne and Kaygen Rogers with 2 rebounds-1 steal each, Allen with 1 rebound-1 steal, Kemp with 1 rebound, and Halle Albers with 1 steal.

I am so proud of how well the girls played today.  Our defense was top notch and gave Fairview fits. The improvements we made from the first time we played them to now were just awesome.  We are learning, and we keep getting better. We will start preparing for our last home game against Edgewood which will be a varsity only game at 5pm on Monday.
