Corry started the game with a three by senior Kaycee Porter and never looked back. Corry finished the first half up 23-7 and eventually the game, doubling up Girard with a 42-21 victory. 

I was pleased with our team defense tonight. We were swarming the ball and not allowing Girard any easy buckets.  Our help side always seemed to be there when Grace Allen or Halle Albers needed it. Halle was tasked with guarding Girard's talented freshman Leah Pratt while Grace was tasked with guarding senior captain Lily Polk. Both girls did a fantastic job and were able to keep them out of their offensive rhythm.  As a team we had 11 steals with Kaygen Rogers, Grace, and Regan Kemp earning 2 steals each for Corry.

Offensively, the girls did a great job of sharing the ball, crashing the boards, and executing their plays.  We had a balanced attack led by Sadye Dyne with 10 points, 3 assists followed by Kaycee with 7 pts, Halle with 6 pts, 1 assist, Haley Mumau with 6 pts, Grace and Kaygen had 4 pts and 1 assist each, Lauren Thomas with 4 pts, Rylee Nickerson with 1 pt, 1 assist, and Lindsey Hasbrouck with 1 assist.

Sadye led us on the glass with 7 rebounds while Lauren and Grace had 6 each.  Kaygen and Rylee each had 4 rebounds followed by Kaycee with 2 while Halle, Lindsey, Haley, and Regan K. each had 1.

Overall the girls played hard, limited their turnovers, shot 12 for 18 from the foul line, played strong defense, and earned the win.  We have a few days now to get back in the gym to get better and prepare for our first home game against Fairview.
