Corry hosted Union City in a non-region game Monday night that turned out to be a nail bitter.  It was a tale of 2 halves with each team making runs.  Corry ended up winning the first two quarters, 9-6 and 11-6 to head into halftime with a 20-12 lead.  Both teams came out hot in the 3^rd with UC winning the quarter 21-16 to cut Corry’s lead to 3.  The 4^th quarter was pretty evenly matched with back and forth buckets by each team.  Though UC won the quarter 14-12, Corry was able to prevail in a very close game with a final score of 48-47.

Sadye Dyne led the Beavers offensively with 12 points and 1 assist while Rylee Nickerson had 9 pts, Haley Mumau with 8 pts and 1 assist, Grace Allen with 6 pts and 3 assists, Lauren Thomas with 5 pts, Kaygen Rogers and Lindsey Hasbrouck with 3 pts each, and Kaycee Porter with 2 pts.

Defensively, we were led by Haley with 4 steals while Kaycee had 2, and Lindsey and Grace had 1 each.  Rylee was big on the glass for Corry, grabbing 14 rebounds while Grace had 9 rebounds, Lindsey with 6, Sadye and Kaygen with 5 each, Haley with 3, and Lauren with 1.

Overall, I am pleased with how we played.  We weathered some storms, we had some key buckets, and we did what was needed to come out with the victory.  I liked our energy tonight.  We are young, and at times, it shows but the team is continually improving and getting better.
