Corry squared off against Seneca Monday night in a non-region showdown.  Both teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter, with the Bobcats edging the Beavers 12-11 after quarter one.  Similar results occurred in quarter two with Corry down by five at the half.  Corry continued to battle in the second half.  At one point, the Beavers cut the deficit to two.  However, Corry’s comeback fell short, eventually falling to Seneca 52-45.

Offensively, we were led by Grace Allen with a 13 pt-12 rebound double-double who also had 4 assists.  Haley Mumau finished with 10 pts-1 assist followed by Halle Albers with 8 pts-2 assists, Kaygen Rogers with 4 pts, Regan Kemp with 3 pts-2 assists, Rylee Nickerson with 3 pts-1 assist, and Sadye Dyne and Reagan Porter with 2 pts each.

Mumau finished the game with 8 rebounds-2 steals followed by Kemp with 8 rebounds-1 steal-3 blocks, Nickerson with 7 rebounds, Rogers with 5 rebounds, Dyne with 2 rebounds-1 block, and Albers with 1 rebound-1 steal.

Overall, I was pleased with the girl’s performance. We hung with a talented team for the entire game. Yes, we want to win but more importantly we want to continue to learn and become better basketball players.
