Corry Area High School: 70
CLYMER CENTRAL SCHOOL: 34

The Corry Boys Basketball Team faced off against the Clymer Pirates on Saturday and came out with a 70-34 victory. Friday was a true team effort with several guys coming into the game making an impact. We nearly had 5 guys in double digits scoring, and we also have 5 guys scoring in double digits for the season thus far. On Friday, it was Scouten leading the way with 17 points, Trask with 16, Frisina with 11, Moon with 10, Deane with 9, and Vanchieri with 5. Having so many guys in double digits makes us difficult to guard. Anyone of these guys are capable of putting up 20 points every night, you just don't know which one it will be.

After the first couple minutes of the game I thought we came out and played our kind of basketball. The beavers came away with 14 steals and turned the pirates over 20+ times. It was evident that we had them gassed going into halftime thanks to our deep bench. Leading the way defensively was Deane with 4 steals, Trask with 3, Moon with 2, and Baker with 2.

Baker came off the bench right away and gave great energy which helped propel our team to get into rhythm. Vanchieri, Atha, Canady, Kent, and Aderhold all came off the bench and made an impact. As a team we had a season low, 10 turnovers.

Frisina had the biggest stat line adding 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, and a steal to his 11 points. It was nice to see him stay on the floor tonight without getting himself into foul trouble. That will be key down the stretch. Trask also had 7 rebounds and is playing great basketball right now.

Moon continues to lead the team at the point guard position exceptionally well. At some point I would love to have him play a little off ball like he normally has in past years, but we just aren't there yet. Moon is a player that is willing to do anything to make his team better, and if it is running the point guard spot he is willing to take that role and be the best he can be.

Scouten had 5 three point field goals, but noticeably he has really been strong defensively. This has made him a more well rounded player, and is really working hard. As a team we made 10 total three point field goals.

We went 6-10 from the free throw line, which is still hovering around that 60% mark. We need to get better in this area, or else it is going to hit hard sometime down the stretch. We are a good shooting team, so 70% should not be an issue.

This upcoming week we have 3 games vs. Northwestern, CASH, and Oil City. This week will really show us where we stand.
