Corry Area High School: 66
COCHRANTON JUNIOR/SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 58

The Corry Beavers came out with a 68-58 win over the Cochranton Cardinals. Both teams showed great effort on the defensive side and played a pretty physical game. I think playing against a defense that was that physical and played our guards tough was a great test for us, and put us into situations that we are going to see down the road in region play. If we play that hard defensively throughout the entire season I think we can wear some teams down and keep looking to score in transition like we did tonight.
* We limited Walker Carrol to 3 points, who averaged 21 a year ago.

Offensively we shared the ball in the scoring column with 4 guys in double digits. Parker Trask led all scorers for the beavers with 17 points , Kamdyn Moon 15 points, Keaton Frisina with 14, and Landon Deane with 10. Jack Vanchieri chipped in with 6 points, and Nick Scouten with 4.
* We went to the foul line 18 times, but only made 10. Thankfully we were 6-6 in the fourth quarter.

Parker Trask had a double double adding 10 rebounds, Frisina had 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Rebounding was better tonight and hopefully we can keep improving in that area. Jack led the way with 3 assists.

Tonight we played 8 guys who all played in key moments. We saw some great things tonight as far as player maturity and players coming off the bench and being effective off the bench at the end of the game. Keaton Frisina got into foul trouble early but was able to get into control and play through it. Deane cramped up late in the game and Deion came in and played some big minutes. Baker really brings energy and really showed great effort even though he didn’t get into the scoring column. Players are accepting roles early and that is a key to success. Moon played a great all around game taking some big charges, Scouten played well on the defensive side, Trask was fantastic tonight (had two key three point field goals), Deane showed some great moments, and Frisina brought it all game long defensively.

Friday night the beavers travel to Union City to take on the Bears. The Route 6 Rivalry!
